Singapore's Katong Food Attack
One good saturday afternoon, Mike, Soon Chek and I have no idea what to have for our lunch. It's been almost 2 months we in Geylang and most of the tasty lovely food in Geylang had been conquered by us. Suddenly came out of no where we thought of go to Katong to try Singapore famous Curry Laksa, Rojaks and Otak-otak. So we took a bus no.40 down to East Coast and the fees is around 85cents. Once we reached there , there are 3 Curry Laksa shops. One is famous because it is the pioneer, the other two i have no idea what they famous of. So, we went to the Laksa shop which is the pioneer. I ordered a bowl of Curry Laksa SGD3.00, 3 Otak-otak, (each cost 80cents) and a Rojak SGD3.00. Once the food come and served on the table i start to dig. However, eating Katong Curry Laksa is a bit different than other place, why? Because they don't provide you chopsticks. The noodles is short so they want you to eat the noodles with the gravy by just using spoon. The gravy is riched with "Santan" - coconut milk. Yummy!!.

Wonderful ,tasty, yummy laksa!

The Curry Laksa served with prawn, bean spout and clams
Mike enjoying the Laksa Soon Chek also enjoying it.

Rojak
The Rojak is normal for me. It is well served with "you-tiao" , fried tao-fu, mangoes, cucumbers, peanuts, bean spout and i can't remember. The rojak doens't tasted any special compare to Malaysia rojak. However i think this is the best Rojak in Singapore. I enjoyed it alot.

Delicious Rojak.

Otak-otak

The Otak-otak is nice, very nice and awesome. Otak-otak is made from fish flesh. The otak-otak they sell is so nice, you can taste the freshness of the fish and the spicy and curry they put in. It is well marinated. The Otak-otak is wrapped in a banana leave and then barbeque it.

Barbequed Otak-otak.Well cooked and marinated Otak-otak. Superb!!

My Rating : 5/5
It is a must try Curry Laksa in Singapore. Remember, Katong Curry Laksa. Rojak and Otak-otak is the best in Singapore but can get better one in Malaysia

Head Back to Singapore
I headed back to Singapore after i spent couple of days in Malaysia. It was awesome. I took Japanese Airline back to Singapore. Nothing much to say bout the JAL. One thing different when take JAL from KLIA to Changi, there are many japs. If you are one of those into japs "lenglui" - "beautiful gals" . then you should try JAL

I took MRT from Changi airport back to Aljunited at 2315. As you can see it is so empty.

Back in Malaysia !!!
I was back in Malaysia on 4th Nov to 5th Nov 2006. Well it was a very busy and fun weekend. Morning i went shopping with my gf, at night i went yum cah with my friends Jed, Mun yee and my gf. The midnight i went for futsal. It was great to be back in home country after weeks in Singapore.

I went yum cha with Jed and Munyee in Cheras Business Center. And i found this place okie. The enviroment was good, food and beverage is fine. However, i changed my mind and think that this place is sux. Reason? Coz they dont practice non-smokers dinning room. im very pissed off. and wont go that place again." Sien".

We got this "artistic" decorated curtain with blue ray.

"Ice blendid" !! i think is splendid ice blended, that's why called blendid. Normal snack, crab sticks, fries and sausages

Close up with food. yum yum

They dont provide you any girls to sit on your lap while you enjoy your food. But they provide giraffe!!

Munyee and Jed. One happy one sad wonder why.

My lovely girlfriend. Miss her alot.

Counter-strike: terrorist identified. targeted :munyee

Geylang's famous Food.
There are 3 kinds of food famous in Geylang. 1) The Frog. 2) Beef Noodles aka Beef Kway Teow. 3) Yu Tiao (fried cruller) with soya milk. "Yu Tiao" is mandarin, it mean Oily Stick. It is made from flour and then deep fried. That is why it is so oily. However, it tasted wonderful. I managed to grab the famous "Yu Tiao" in Geylang. I am not sure whether the stall is the most famous in Geylang, but this "Yu Tiao" is special compare to Malaysian's "Yu Tiao" because of its length.

Fried "Yu Tiao" Yum!!!

Oily, Yummy, Tasty.

Lengthy "Yu Tiao"
The length of the "Yu Tiao" is so incredible!!! Wa.. sai.. I cannot believe my own eyes the moment i see it. It is one A4 paper size.I think around 28cm long. In Malaysia most of the time i will only see half of its length. Crazy sial !!

"FooLamak!!" Check it out, freaking long!!

An A4 size "Yu Tiao" !!! No kidding man.

The "Yu Tiao" is not famous by its own. It is eat with soya milk. The idea, method, or habits of eating "Yu Tiao" with soya milk is originated from Taiwan. The soya milk doesn't tasted any special. When i mixed together and eat, it just tasted like every sunday morning the "Yu Tiao" and soya milk my mom bought from "pasar" wet market.

Nice combination! Just like a perfect husband and wife.

It just make me hungry. Don't read this blog, if you havent had anything yet.

Testing "Yu Tiao" time!!!

1st tell the "Yu Tiao" you going to eat it.

2nd Ask him whether got any last word to say before being eaten.

3rd eat the "Yu Tiao" with full passion.

YUM!!! It tasted GREATT!!!!

Lastly, if you dont enjoy it just put your thumb up for advertising purposes.

It is a great Asian snack!!. Good for breakfast and tea break. I doens't find it special compare to Malaysia's "Yu Tiao". I like it, because i like "Yu Tiao". It is recommended for a try if you havent eat before "Yu Tiao".

My Rating : 3/5 It is a good food. the taste and the texture of the "Yu Tiao" is not something special to me.
